Career Changes Are Common

Everyone thinks they know what they want to do with the rest of their working life when they are young. Once an education is completed most start on a journey to discover they really don’t like their career choice. The fact is most people will change their career path several times over a lifetime. Friends and family may think you are touch off center when out of the blue you discover you made a bad decision and decide to start over with a new career.

We spend usually a third of our days working and most are unhappy with their work. The question is why spend all that time unhappy. Reasons for changing careers are numerous. Perhaps your interests have changed. Perhaps some other significant life-changing event has occurred. The reason to change really is un-important of you are unhappy. Changing careers could be one of the best decisions you make in your life.
We spend out lives chasing after dreams with ideas planted by others and when we get to the end of our rainbow, we ask ourselves; Now What? Sound familiar? That is because it is familiar to many. Changing careers is one of the biggest decision job-seekers face, and with many possible outcomes and consequences

Changing careers requires work, determination and time. It may require further education or beginning at a entry-level position, but, Changing from a career with low satisfaction to your dream job can be one of the most exciting experiences in your life. Changing careers can be tough, but it’s a challenge that millions of Americans face every year. I personally am in my early 50’s and I am on number 4. It can be done. Priorities change and so do people. The point is you have choices. You can hold on to what you have and make the best of your situation, or you can decide to make a change and work a fulfilling job or career.
